The Community transit procedure involves the movement and transit of goods from one point in the customs territory of the European Community to another without customs duties and taxes. The principal is designated to place the goods under the Community transit procedure by presenting the goods at the customs office of departure and making the relevant declaration. According to the legislation, there are two types of Community transit: external and internal.
